A once-in-a-lifetime musical exploration of Austria’s cities and monasteries that wrote music history
Led personally by Austrian conductor and musicologist Mario Aschauer — intimate group experiences, historic organs, private music moments
A curated experience for music-lovers, combining culture, fellowship, breathtaking scenery, and outstanding food
Dear friends and fellow music lovers,
I’m Mario Aschauer, Harmonia Stellarum’s Artistic Director. Austria is my home country, where I grew up and received my musical and academic training. It’s a place whose landscapes, cities, and centuries-old traditions shaped me both as a musician and as a person.
Now I’d like to share it with you. Together with some of your favorite Harmonia musicians, I’ll be leading a 10-day journey through “musical Austria” between May 11–21, 2026.
Harmonia’s musicians are passionate about making often forgotten repertoire and our unique approach to music making a meaningful experience for you. In that same spirit we’d like to invite you on this trip.
And this invitation is for everyone — whether you’ve joined us for a Harmonia concert before or are just discovering us now.
Warmly,
Mario Aschauer
Artistic Director

May 12: Innsbruck
Upon arrival we meet our tour host and transfer by coach to the Old Town of Innsbruck where we will stay at the Penz Hotel for two nights.
The drive from the airport to Innsbruck is a wonderful introduction to the alpine landscape of the Tyrolean region of Austria. After freshening-up, we say Prost! over a welcome drink at a brief orientation meeting. Enjoy the rest of the evening at your leisure and try to stay awake until your ‘regular’ bedtime to minimize the effects of jet lag.
May 13: Innsbruck
After breakfast, we take short walk to the Hofkirche, enjoy a private tour and hear the oldest organ of Austria from 1558. A few steps from the church we find a cable car that will transport us to the top of the Nordkette at 7,500ft. We will enjoy incredible views of Innsbruck and the valley and there is also a cafe where you can enjoy lunch. Enjoy some free-time in the afternoon. We recommend a visit to the Ferdinandeum Museum that houses the famous portrait of ClaudioMonteverdi, in the city center of Innsbruck. This evening, we gather for a group dinner at a local restaurant. [B,D]
