We celebrate the end of our season with a feast of grand concerted madrigals—music that represents the genre at its most sumptuous and expressive, enriched by instruments and virtuosic solo singing. Drawing on the drama and monody of early opera, these late works by Monteverdi, Rovetta, and Priuli mark the final, glorious climax of the madrigal before the genre fades from the stage of music history.
